Job Summary:
The CABHI Marketing and Communications (MarComm) team is responsible for developing and executing marketing and communication strategies for a wide range of internal and external audiences to support CABHI’s operational plan, business goals, strategic objectives, and brand awareness. The team manages and strengthens CABHI’s reputation, including its social and digital media presence, public events, strategic storytelling, media relations, marketing initiatives, and audience engagement.
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing & Events, the Graphic Design & Events Specialist works closely with the MarComm team to support the logistics, graphic design production, and seamless execution of CABHI’s flagship events, conference sponsorships, Defy Dementia, and knowledge mobilization initiatives and products. The position will ensure that all digital materials and campaigns are designed and aligned with CABHI’s mission and vision.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design and Creative Production
- Lead the design creation of high-quality marketing and communications materials, including reports, program packages, infographics, one-pagers, and brochures for both CABHI and Defy Dementia
- Ensure materials are designed to effectively reach diverse stakeholders (e.g. older adults, innovators, and partners) while showcasing CABHI’s and Defy Dementia’s activities and the aging and brain health sector.
- Maintain and regularly update an organized library of creative assets for easy access and consistency across teams.
- Monitor the performance of creative deliverables (e.g., infographics, carousels, videos), gather feedback, and recommend improvements to enhance engagement and effectiveness.
Event Planning and Execution
- Oversee the planning and execution of CABHI’s flagship and conference sponsorship events
- Execute the event calendar, managing logistics, timelines, deliverables, and all post-event follow-up activities.
- Support internal stakeholders participating in events by collecting required content, setting timelines, and ensuring all event needs are met.
- Provide on-site support for CABHI events or on-site visits, including travel as required, to ensure smooth execution and participant experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in graphic design, marketing, or advertising.
- Strong skills in graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead design initiatives and to plan and execute corporate events
- Experience in event logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site event support, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High-quality standards and attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and additional project management and event tools (e.g. Luma, Eventbrite, Asana)
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Flexible to work early mornings and evenings, when required.
Compensation:
At Baycrest, we take pride in ensuring our compensation structure is internally equitable and compliant with pay equity legislation. We believe compensation should be transparent, equitable, and reflective of your experience and growth. Our salary ranges are structured to support progression, from learning the role to demonstrating full proficiency.
For this position, the salary range is $66,021 to $82,526. The target hiring range is $66,021 to $80,000 per year.
Your placement within the target hiring range will depend on your job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, and relevant education and experience, as well as considerations such as market conditions and internal equity. The starting salary will be determined using these factors to ensure fairness and consistency across the organization.
