Job Summary:

The CABHI Marketing and Communications (MarComm) team is responsible for developing and executing marketing and communication strategies for a wide range of internal and external audiences to support CABHI’s operational plan, business goals, strategic objectives, and brand awareness. The team manages and strengthens CABHI’s reputation, including its social and digital media presence, public events, strategic storytelling, media relations, marketing initiatives, and audience engagement.  

 

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Manager, Marketing & Events works closely with the MarComm team and across the organization to strengthen CABHI’s brand and visibility by delivering high-quality marketing campaigns, initiatives, and events that showcase CABHI’s impact in aging and brain health innovation. This role is responsible for planning and executing events such as innovation showcases, conferences, pitch competitions, and community activations, while ensuring alignment with CABHI’s brand identity and strategic communications priorities.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·        Marketing Campaigns & Branding

o   Support development and rollout of creative marketing campaigns for CABHI programs, initiatives, events, and partnerships.

o   Create and manage promotional products and materials (print, digital, multimedia) for events and campaigns.

o   Identify strategies that leverage digital and social media channels to maximize reach and engagement of CABHI content.

o   Collaborate with communications team members to ensure consistent messaging and brand identity across platforms.

o   Provide marketing acceleration services to CABHI innovators/partners as needed. 

 

·        Event & Team Management

o   Plan, organize, and execute CABHI-hosted events such as innovation showcases, pitch competitions, national and international activations.

o   Manage Events & Design Coordinator to ensure the completion of CABHI hosted events and marketing materials efficiently and effectively.

o   Coordinate logistics for CABHI’s participation in external conferences and exhibitions, including booth design, speaker support, and promotional activities.

o   Manage budgets, timelines, vendors, and contracts to ensure seamless event delivery in alignment with CABHI’s processes and procedures.

o   Develop post-event reports and evaluations that capture outcomes, insights, and impact.

 

·        Internal & External Stakeholder Engagement

o   Work closely with internal teams (e.g., MarComm, Knowledge Mobilization, Programs, Business Development, and Partnerships) to ensure events and campaigns effectively engage target stakeholders.

o   Liaise with external partners, sponsors, suppliers, and exhibitors to build collaborative event opportunities.

o   Represent CABHI at sector events, fostering relationships and identifying opportunities to amplify CABHI’s presence.

 

·        Measurement & Reporting

o   Track event attendance, digital engagement, and marketing campaign performance.

o   Provide regular reports and recommendations to the Director of Marketing & Communications and leadership team to drive strategic improvements

o   Coordinate with the Operations and Corporate Performance teams to align reporting metrics.

o   Apply learnings to strengthen future campaigns and events.

 

Key Qualifications:

  •         Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, event management, or related field (Master’s degree an asset).
  •         Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing, events, or communications, ideally within innovation, healthcare, or non-profit sectors.
  •         Proven ability to plan and deliver high-quality events and marketing campaigns from concept through execution.
  •         Strong organizational, project management, and vendor management skills.
  •         Experience leading multi-channel campaigns (digital, social, email, events, earned and paid media).
  •         Proficiency with SEO/SEM, marketing automation, CRM systems, and analytics platforms.
  •         Deep understanding of digital advertising, social media strategy, and web optimization.
  •         Strong knowledge of branding and event marketing strategies.
  •         Experience managing marketing budgets, vendor contracts, and statements of work.
  •         Experience developing creative marketing collateral, managing digital campaigns, and coordinating event communications.
  •         Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  •         Ability to work collaboratively across internal teams and with external partners in a fast-paced environment.
  •         Comfort working in innovation, research, or healthcare ecosystems is preferred.

 

Compensation:

At Baycrest, we take pride in ensuring our compensation structure is internally equitable and compliant with pay equity legislation. We believe compensation should be transparent, equitable, and reflective of your experience and growth. Our salary ranges are structured to support progression, from learning the role to demonstrating full proficiency.

 

For this position, the salary range is $84,417 to $105,521. The target hiring range is $84,417 to $95,000 per year.

 

Your placement within the target hiring range will depend on your job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, and relevant education and experience, as well as considerations such as market conditions and internal equity. The starting salary will be determined using these factors to ensure fairness and consistency across the organization.
