Director, IT Technical Services & Cyber Security
Director, IT Technical Services & Cyber Security
Baycrest is a globally recognized leader in the field of aging, offering a unique and rewarding opportunity to be part of an organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of older adults. As a comprehensive academic health sciences centre, Baycrest provides a full spectrum of care, including independent living, long-term care, specialized hospital services, and innovative research. The campus is a dynamic and supportive environment where every team member contributes to transforming the way they care for older adults and advancing groundbreaking research in brain health.
This is a rare chance to shape the Digital Transformation portfolio at one of Canada’s most respected health and research organizations. As Baycrest continues to lead innovation in aging and brain health, the Director of IT Technical Services and Cyber Security will play a critical role in the Corporate Digital Transformation team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership, delivery, reliability and continuous improvement to Baycrest’s technology infrastructure, network services, technical operations, helpdesk and cyber security program. Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Digital Transformation, the Director ensures the secure, stable and efficient operation of all core technical services that support clinical care, research, education, and business operations across Baycrest’s entities.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned digital and technology leader with extensive experience leading complex IT operations, infrastructure, network management, and cybersecurity functions in high‑availability environments. With more than 15 years of progressive experience, including senior management responsibility, you bring deep technical expertise across enterprise systems, end‑user computing, telecommunications, and cybersecurity tools, along with a strong understanding of evolving cyber threats and mitigation strategies. You excel in fast‑paced, 24/7 operational settings – preferably within healthcare – where system reliability, security, and responsiveness are critical. Your background includes hands‑on experience with a broad range of infrastructure components, enabling you to lead with both strategic insight and practical credibility. A collaborative and trusted leader, you balance governance, risk, and compliance with innovation and continuous improvement. You are comfortable navigating IT‑related legal documentation, contracts, and governance requirements, working closely with legal and business partners.
