The Regina Pats Hockey Club is seeking for a detail-oriented and driven Accountant to join our dynamic and growing team in the food & beverage and entertainment industry. This role is key to supporting financial operations across multiple revenue streams. It is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied workload and thrives in a dynamic environment. The role will require an individual who is available to work a variety of irregular work hours including all game days/nights (evenings, weekends, and holidays).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations: accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Track and reconcile revenue from multiple sources: Food & Beverage sales, ticketing, sponsorships, events, and merchandise
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and monthly reconciliations
- Reconcile POS and event sales with cash, EFT, and credit card
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including annual audits
- Track and reconcile inventory transactions for food, beverage, and retail products
- Ensure tax compliance and support filings (sales tax, payroll tax, etc.)
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Prepare timely internal reports on margins, sales performance, and expenses
- Monitor and improve internal financial processes and controls

Required Skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar)
- Familiarity with POS systems, event ticketing software, and inventory platforms is a plus
- Detail-oriented, self-starter, with strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communicator who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
Required Experience
- Accounting degree, with CPA designation in progress
- 3+ years of accounting experience, specifically in Food & Beverage, retail, or entertainment sectors
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
- Experience with inventory tracking and cost accounting
