Heavy Equipment Technician - Value Parts

Brandt is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician for our Value Parts department in Regina. The successful applicant for this position will be responsible for disassembling, inspecting cleaning, ordering parts and assembling heavy equipment components in our Regina Rebuild shop. The types of components include but are not limited to axles, final drives, pumps, transmissions, engines hydraulic motors, hydraulic cylinders and other planetary drives. This position will also be responsible for dismantling of construction, forestry and mining based heavy equipment. This position will play a key role in increasing our component rebuild and equipment dismantling capabilities and work closely with the other Value Parts shop personnel to fulfill their duties and increase overall shop productivity.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment components
- Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
- Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
- Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
- Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
- Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
- Must possess excellent attention to detail
- Forklift experience and heavy-duty parts handling an asset

Required Skills
- Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
- Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proven computer and technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work.
- Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
- Strong time-management skills to perform effectively.
- Strong communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- A commitment to high-quality customer service.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Required Experience
- Certified Journeyperson in the heavy-duty equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
- Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment considered an asset
- Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
