Brandt is currently looking to fill multiple Financial Analyst positions in our Regina location, for our Construction & Forestry division. These positions will report to the Manager, Accounting.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and analyze divisional & departmental monthly/annual financial statements while striving to ensure their accuracy and completion on a timely basis.
  • Analyze profit and loss variances to prior performance and budgets.
  • Assist with the preparation of documentation required for the annual external audit
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff
  • Provide insight into various accounting requirements including CRA requirements.
  • Provide advice and guidance on accounting matters including financial systems, record keeping, analysis, and reporting.
  • Identify internal process gaps and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as they arise
  • Provide operational level analysis on monthly financials and trends and highlight the areas for improvement
  • Reconcile GL accounts and prepare month end journal entries with supporting documentation
  • Ability to analyze large data into meaningful conclusions with recommendations.
  • Works with different divisions for intercompany processing and reconciliation
  • Assist/prepare working papers required for quarterly and annual reserves & allowances
  • Assist in continuous process improvement and ad-hoc projects

Required Experience

  • University degree in Business/Accounting, with advanced degree or professional Accounting designation (such as CPA) preferred.
  • 1 - 3 year (s) experience working as a Senior Accountant or Financial Analyst.
  • Solid understanding of financial metrics, corporate finance, and accounting.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with drive for continuous improvement.
