At LGM, our people are at the heart of everything we do. In this newly created position, we are looking for a Senior Human Resources Generalist who is passionate about creating positive employee experiences, enabling leaders, and advancing people practices across the organization.

 

In this role, you will partner closely with leaders and employees across Canada to deliver thoughtful, compliant, and people-first HR support throughout the employee lifecycle. You will contribute to meaningful programs spanning recruitment, employee relations, compensation, engagement, and HR operations, helping cultivate an inclusive, high-performing workplace where employees can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support full-cycle recruitment while ensuring consistent, fair, and compliant hiring practices including job postings, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and offer letters
  • Track recruitment budget and maintain hiring metrics
  • Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure a seamless new hire experience
  • Maintain job descriptions and standardized hiring documentation

 

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a trusted HR partner and point of contact for employee and leader inquiries
  • Support leaders in addressing employee concerns, conflict resolution, and performance discussions
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture

 

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within HR systems
  • Assist in developing and updating HR policies and procedures aligned with provincial and federal legislation
  • Support compliance across multiple jurisdictions including BC Employment Standards Act, Ontario ESA, and Quebec Labour Standards

 

Compensation & Pay Equity

  • Participate in annual compensation analysis to ensure market competitiveness and fairness
  • Conduct internal pay equity audits to identify and address compensation gaps
  • Participate in job evaluation processes to maintain internal equity and consistency

 

Benefits Design & Administration

  • Participate in the design and annual review of employee benefits programs
  • Partner with payroll to ensure timely and accurate employee changes including hires, terminations, and leaves

 

Learning, Development & Engagement

  • Coordinate training programs, leadership development sessions, and compliance training
  • Support employee engagement initiatives including surveys, events, recognition programs, and communications

 

HR Reporting & Metrics

  • Prepare and maintain HR reports including engagement, turnover, recruitment metrics, and KPIs
  • Support HR data audits and contribute insights for decision-making

Required Skills

  • Proficient with MS Office suite of products
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively support leaders
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to proactively network locally to identify best practices
  • Strong knowledge of multi province employment standards, human rights legislation, and privacy regulations
  • Experience with Quebec Labour Standards is an asset
  • Bilingual (French and English) would be a bonus

 

Experience/Education

  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • CPHR designation or candidate status preferred
