The Organization
LGM is a national leader in providing warranty, finance and insurance services to the Canadian automotive industry. Since 1998, LGM has been successfully supplying quality products and leading training solutions to Canadian automotive dealerships. Dealer partnerships are complimented with the strong backing and support of their automotive manufacturing brands, which include BMW/MINI, Kia, Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover/Range Rover and Mitsubishi Motors.
Key Responsibilities
- Create senior-level access and originate qualified net-new commercial opportunities with Canadian OEMs and dealer groups.
- Build strategic relationships with banks, financial institutions, suppliers, and other automotive-industry organizations to generate introductions, market intelligence, partnerships, and commercial opportunities.
- Partner with Marubeni’s M&A team, where appropriate, to broker introductions, create connections, and identify opportunities within the Canadian mobility ecosystem.
- Represent LGM at relevant Canadian automotive conferences, associations, OEM and dealer-group functions, partner events, and other key industry forums.
- Establish early visibility into upcoming RFIs, RFPs, program reviews, and sourcing activity, and share relevant intelligence with internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with the EVP, Sales & OEM Performance and NVP, OEM Sales & Performance on OEM opportunities, and with the EVP on dealer-group opportunities.
- Mobilize the appropriate LGM leaders and subject matter experts as opportunities develop, supporting effective enterprise collaboration and conversion.
- Maintain a transparent and measurable national business-development book of record covering relationships, meetings, opportunities, pipeline value, RFP/RFI intelligence, next steps, and outcomes.
- Prepare a quarterly National Business Development Report outlining pipeline, opportunity progression, market intelligence, strategic relationships, risks, and priorities to support CEO, SLT, and Board reporting.

Required Skills:
- Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills, with the ability to establish credibility and access at senior executive levels.
- Strong business-development acumen, including opportunity identification, qualification, pipeline management, and progression.
- Deep knowledge of the Canadian automotive industry, including OEMs, dealer groups, financial institutions, suppliers, and the broader mobility ecosystem.
- Ability to gather, interpret, and communicate market intelligence, including RFI, RFP, program-review, and sourcing activity.
- Excellent executive-level written and verbal communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Strong enterprise collaboration skills and the judgment to engage the right leaders and subject matter experts at the right time.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate CRM or business-development records and reporting on measurable outcomes.
Education:
- Post-secondary education in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience will be considered.
Experience
- Extensive progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, sales, or a related senior external-facing role within the Canadian automotive industry.
- Established national network across OEMs, dealer groups, financial institutions, suppliers, and other automotive-industry stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success creating senior-level access, originating qualified opportunities, and helping cross-functional teams convert opportunities into new business.
- Experience representing an organization at industry conferences, association events, and executive forums; experience in automotive finance, protection products, or mobility is an asset.
