ROLE
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, some of the duties include;

Triage and assess patients using CTAS guidelines and initiate emergency care based on clinical priorities

Administer medications, treatments, and diagnostics as per physician orders and medical directives, in line with CNO standards

Assist in emergency procedures, trauma response, and Code situations, ensuring readiness for Code Orange and CBRNE events

Collaborate with physicians, multidisciplinary teams, and charge staff in patient care planning, documentation, and department operations

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, maintain current emergency nursing competencies, and ensure proper stock and supply levels
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)
- Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Current IV certification, including management of central lines
- Current CPR
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)
- Minimum 2 years’ clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting
- Effective time management skills
- Excellent client counselling, interpersonal and communication skills
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE(S) & EDUCATION
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Certification)
- Successful completion of related Emergency courses
- PALS, ENC (c) & other Emergency & Critical Care Education preferred
- Current CTAS certification

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
