Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is a multi-site organization that includes the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site and the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site, and together we provide outstanding, integrated care to support people in living their healthiest lives.

 

OVERVIEW

The role is responsible for ensuring secure, reliable IT infrastructure and serving as the lead technical escalation point while collaborating with organizational and regional teams.


ROLE

  • Ensure network and infrastructure environments follow best practices for high availability and security

  • Architect and oversee virtual, cloud, and disaster recovery environments

  • Serve as the department representative in technical initiatives and cross-functional working groups

  • Act as the primary technical escalation point for management, staff, physicians, and vendors

  • Safeguard the security and availability of information systems, biomedical systems, communications, and IT assets

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce change management and service management strategies and documentation

  • Lead cybersecurity response efforts and implement proactive cybercrime prevention strategies

  • Collaborate with vendors, partners, and clinical teams to align infrastructure decisions with operational and clinical needs

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and escalation support to the technical IT team while managing infrastructure upgrades and deployments

  • Plan and manage IT infrastructure resources, software licensing, monitoring, automation, documentation, on-call support, and additional assigned duties

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline or significant work experience and training required
  • 5 plus years of experience focused on systems analysis and design, systems administration, network and/or infrastructure design and implementation in a hospital environment
  • 5 years recent leadership or project leadership experience in project implementation in an Information Technology setting
  • Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • CCNA, MCSE, VCP, ITIL, CCP-V, CCNP Security, desired

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

 

Location: Remote/Multi-Site, working on site at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis

 

Hours of Work:  Regular hours of work are Monday to Friday 8 am - 4 pm, plus a rotational on-call requirement. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
