OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Director of Quality, Risk, Patient Experience and Interprofessional Practice the Manager of Quality, Patient Safety, and Interprofessional Practice plays a vital role in ensuring that MAHC Hospital is recognized as a leader in delivering safe, reliable, and effective care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and oversee quality improvement initiatives that align with MAHC's strategic goals.
  • Integrate and manage patient safety protocols, ensuring they are effectively executed throughout the organization.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of robust quality management systems that monitor and enhance care delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and best practices in quality and patient safety.
  • Work closely with various departments and Professional Practice Leads to identify areas for improvement and foster a culture of continuous quality enhancement.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on quality and safety metrics to track progress and identify trends.
  • Provide education and support to staff regarding quality improvement and patient safety practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, patients, and families, to promote a shared commitment to quality and safety.
  • Lead and mentor a team of quality and safety professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in health administration or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive professional experience in quality management, patient safety, or a related area in a healthcare setting
  • Minimum of 3 years of current progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and quality improvement methodologies
  • Master’s degree in Health Administration or Business Administration is desired
  • Certification in healthcare quality management (e.g., Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality – CPHQ) is desired

 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

 

Location: Multi-Site, working on site at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis 

 

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday during regular business hours, however you may be required to be available occasionally during evenings and weekends according to departmental and organizational requirements.
