ROLE
- Provide leadership and clinical guidance to the oncology nursing team
- Act as a clinical resource for complex oncology cases and infusion therapies
- Assess, administer IV medications, Infuse/Preform Transfusions and monitor patients
- Participates in discharge planning/multidisciplinary rounds, family conferences, and palliative care planning
- Assist physicians with procedures as necessary
- Assessing and reporting changes in patient condition to the patient’s physician
- Provides education to patients and/or family in conjunction with other staff members/departments
- Assists support staff in arranging appropriate patient bookings
- Champion safety, efficiency, and best practices in oncology care delivery
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Training through the Cancer Program (DeSouza Institute or equivalent)
- Minimum 3–5 years of recent oncology nursing experience
- Previous experience in a Team Lead or leadership role is an asset
- Previous emergency or ambulatory care experience an asset.
- Current knowledge of oncology drugs, treatments, and their interactions
- Current DeSouza Bio-Chemo Certification
- Current CPR
- IV certification
- RVH Mentoring
- Willingness to obtain CVAA and CNA certification in oncology nursing

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
