ROLE
As a Registered Nurse working in Ambulance Patient Offload Services you will be responsible for:
- Offloading patients to designated area while waiting for ED stretcher
- Reassessing patient while on offload until care assumed by ED staff
- Implement medical directives to support quality patient care
- Reassessment of the waiting room and reporting back to triage nurse – when free of patient care
- Patient demographic data collection during patient offload time
- Stocking within the department – when free of patient care
- Completing timely ECG’s to support quality metrics
- Documentation to be completed on the patients ER record
- Supporting metric collection on program as necessary
- Remain using Fit 2 Sit protocol
REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)
- Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- 2 years of experience as a nurse in an emergency department required
- 2 years of experience in triage
- Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Certification)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- ENC (c) (Emergency Nurse Certification (Canada)
- CTAS (Canadian Triage Acuity Scale)
- Other Emergency & Critical Care Education

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
