ROLE
The Senior Technologist - Histology performs a range of tests and procedures related to their section and/or department. Applies the appropriate application of the principles, theories and techniques of Medical Laboratory Science, to ensure accurate test results, which aid the physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Responsible for the daily workload of others and provides technical guidance to assigned staff. They will also,
- Ensuring proper technical procedures are followed so that the work output meets established requirements (e.g. Health and Safety, IQMH) in a specified discipline(s)
- Perform
svenipuncture, capillary collections and electrocardiograms as required. Performs routine analysis of specimens as defined by the site-specific Ontario Ministry of Health Lab License - Assist in monitoring the quality of work performance of assigned staff
- Prepare statistics as required, including workload
- Contribute and maintain the Quality Assurance program and recommend revisions
- Graduated from a recognized Medical Laboratory Program
- Current professional registration and licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
- Have a minimum of 4years of current clinical experience related to Medical Laboratory Technology
- Bachelor of Science or other related discipline (desired)
- Quality Management Education/Certification (desired)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: Multi-Site, working on-site at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
