 ROLE

  • Provide strategic leadership for Materials Management, fostering both internal and external partnerships to achieve cost-effective, quality outcomes in a patient-focused environment.
  • Build and maintain interdisciplinary partnerships, engage in contract negotiations, and ensure effective purchasing and inventory practices to enhance service delivery.
  • Establish regular communication channels with leadership and staff, promoting transparency and effective information sharing across departments and with external vendors.
  • Oversee performance appraisals, staff scheduling, fiscal management, and the implementation of standardization programs to ensure efficient operations.
  • Collaborate to assess staffing needs, set performance expectations, and monitor service quality and fiscal utilization against established standards.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning through mentoring, training opportunities, and support for staff development while maintaining compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Ensure adherence to patient and staff safety policies, promote a safe work environment, and perform additional duties as required by senior management.
  • Supported by the Buyer, lead the preparation and evaluation of RFPs, negotiate and draft contracts, and administer requests for quotations, ensuring compliance with budgetary and organizational guidelines while maintaining a database of contracts.
  • Conduct detailed cost analyses and product evaluations, maintain databases for capital assets and supplier transactions, manage medical device recalls, and provide support for the Product Evaluation Committee and supplier interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with all Broader Public Sector procurement requirements and contractual legal issues. Act as a key resource for all procurement regulations. Committed to remaining abreast of changes in these requirements.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S) 

  • Post Secondary education in Materials, Business Administration or related field is required.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation preferred

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)

  • A minimum of three to five years of progressively responsible leadership roles is required
  • Previous Public Sector purchasing experience in a hospital setting is preferred

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

 

Location: Multi-Site, working in person at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. 

 

Department: Finance

 

Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements.
