The Opportunity
The Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) Site Administrative Coordinator will provide coordination of the NOSM University local Phase 2 program for Bracebridge, Huntsville and Burks Falls Clerkship learners. Duties of this role include;
  • Develop relationships with physicians and allied health to establish learner medical and community-based experiences
  • Schedule academic sessions including finding presenters and facilitators
  • Complete MAHC credentialing for all Undergrad and Postgrad learners
  • Manage Rural resident program in Huntsville and Bracebridge
  •  Organize and run Clerkship learner orientation program and events
  • Support the Site Liaison Clinician in Huntsville and Bracebridge
  • Assist learners with preparing materials for academic presentations and facilitating technology requirements
  • Organizing local NOSM University events, including booking of facilities, coordinating catering etc.
  • Act as NOSM University community point person
  • Coordinate medical learners’ hospital orientation
  • Liaise between NOSM University Learner Affairs Office and the community with regards to learner wellness
  • Assist in the running of outpatient education clinics
  •  Assist the MAHC Research Coordinator
  • Assist Postgrad with assessment follow up in the community
  • Maintain familiarity with the Elantra program to assist learners and physicians
  • Provide assistance with media releases and other community communications
 
What will I need to join the team?
  • Post-secondary education (degree or diploma)
  • Medical terminology is an asset
  • 2-3 years of related administrative experience
  •  Advanced computer skills and experience in word processing, Excel and presentation software
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relation skills
  • Good understanding of the local Healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated administrative planning skills and project support
  • Strong verbal communication skills are essential in order to interact with various individuals (internally and externally)
  • Demonstrated superior written communication, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and editing skills
  • Ability to time manage, prioritize, and multi-task to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently and in a collaborative environment
