Working together to provide outstanding integrated health care to our communities delivering best patient outcomes with exemplary standards and compassion, Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is a multi-site organization that includes Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site and South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site.
ROLE
- Ensure proper stock rotation and inventory control as per public health standards, departmental par stocks and specifications.
- Place food and departmental supply orders according to established procedures.
- Record and track food and supply costs.
- Complete book keeping functions for the department including reconciliation of petty cash, processing of requisitions and invoices for inpatient and outpatient supplies, catering events, Meals on Wheels, Grab and Go, etc.
- Inform departmental staff of any necessary changes related to menu items (e.g., due to supply stockouts and shortages).
- Post catering and holiday meal details.
- Research new food items and supplies – and equipment, when requested by Manager.
- Meet and follow up with sales representatives as needed.
- In e-payroll system post schedules and worked hours for Food Services Supervisors, Clerks and Dietitians (manager approves with reference to signed time sheets).
REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)

Secondary School Diploma.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)
- 1 year quantity food production and basic nutrition knowledge/ background
- Clerical and organizational skills in computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook), filing and typing (at 60 words per minute).
- Accuracy in spelling and keyboarding
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE(S) & EDUCATION
- Current Food Handlers Certificate from Public Health is preferred

Location(s): Huntsville District Memorial Hospital in Huntsville (HDMH).
Department: Food and Nutrition Services
Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
Conditions of employment for external hires includes;
- Proof of immunization and vaccination records to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department.
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
- Clean Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check.
