OVERVIEW

The Operating Room Aide supports surgical teams by transporting patients, preparing operating rooms, and assisting with supply management. OR Aides help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient surgical environment.

ROLE

• Transports or assists in transporting patients for the Operating Room/Recovery Room
• Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assists with room preparation for the Operating Rooms
• Participates in setting up, stocking and ordering supplies, and cleaning Operating Rooms and Equipment

QUALIFICATIONS

• Secondary School Diploma
• Completion of a Medical Terminology Course
• Previous experience in hospital/institutional environment is considered an asset
• Experience with aseptic technique and cleaning of sterile areas
• Current BLS
• Operating Room Attendant Course,or willingness to obtain

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

Location: Multi-Site, working on site at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) will be the primary site. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Hours of Work:  Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
