Designated Inventory Management Pharmacy Technicians
Dear Pharmacy Team,
Expressions of interest are being accepted from members of the OPSEU Paramedical bargaining unit who wish to work as one or two Pharmacy Technicians in Inventory Management.
These positions will be assigned time every afternoon from Monday to Friday to focus on inventory-related tasks. Weekend and evening shifts will remain part of the existing rotation, with the designated technicians backfilling each other as needed. One technician will serve as the Primary Inventory Technician, and the other as the Secondary Inventory Technician.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Processing invoices
- Managing and tracking backorders
- Attend HealthPRO meetings
- Placing purchase orders for both sites
- Updating prices in Omnicell and on manual charge-out and expiry sheets
- Forwarding monthly Omnicell reports and manual charge-out/expiry sheets to Finance
- Returning expired items for refunds
- Performing manual inventory checks on shelves at both sites weekly
- Setting and adjusting PAR levels in the pharmacy and Omnicell
- Maintain organized, accessible records to ensure smooth handover and backup
Preference will be given to individuals who possess the following
- Registered Pharmacy Technician designation from the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Experience with Omnicell and inventory management systems preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the pharmacy team
- Problem-solving skills to address stock shortages and supply chain issues
- Adaptability and interest in developing and improving inventory processes
Granting of this opportunity shall be based on a number of factors, including previous related experience, the candidate’s demonstrated ability, flexibility and availability, attendance record, and operational need. Training shifts will be scheduled based on current posted schedules and availability of those departments to train.
