Purchasing Clerk

Expressions of interest are being accepted from part-time and casual members of the OPSEU Office and Clerical bargaining unit who wish to work as Purchasing Clerk.

These positions will be enrolled onto a secondary call list for Materials Management. Shifts will be offered as required to fill shift vacancies or to backfill permanent positions to allow project work.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Restocking supply carts
• Receiving equipment and products
• Transporting equipment and products to various departments
• Inventory management procedures
• Providing stores support for customers
• Daily filing of purchase orders and packing slips
• Checking expiry dates of products

Preference will be given to individuals who possess the following

• Previous inventory management responsibilities
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
• Ability to work independently, while working collaboratively within the Materials Management Team

Granting of this opportunity shall be based on a number of factors, including previous related experience, the candidate’s demonstrated ability, flexibility and availability, attendance record, and operational need. Training shifts will be scheduled based on current posted schedules and availability of those departments to train.
