The Maintenance Clerk is responsible for scheduling and coordinating maintenance, security, and environmental services activities for care of buildings and grounds at all Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare sites.


ROLE

  • Assist with planning, organizing, and following through with projects in the Hospital.
  • Maintain knowledge of AMMS software, maintenance online work order request and preventative maintenance software. Open, review, distribute and close work orders and preventative maintenance orders daily
  •  Answer telephones, screen and forward calls, relay messages, schedule and confirm appointments and meetings, and perform other clerical duties as required
  • Type, proofread, copy, distribute, and file correspondence, reports, invoices, minutes of departmental meetings, etc.
  • Prepare monthly working schedules and distribute as per SEIU contract. Daily maintenance of schedule – filling open shifts, sick shifts, calling in extra staff as requested.

  • Obtain price quotations from suppliers and prepare purchase orders
  • Calculate cost of order and charge invoice to appropriate account.
  • Process purchases within maintenance authority.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve shortages, missed deliveries and other problems
  • Responsible for maintaining MAHC building keys logs, assigning keys to staffs, ordering or replacing keys, coordinating re-keying offices/areas as requested by management
  • Interact with tradespeople and assist in coordination of their activities.
  • Participate in inspections/testing of the site, lights, alarms, etc. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Secondary School Diploma 
  • Excellent computer knowledge, skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Windows, AMMS and CCIM pay Information Systems are necessities of this position.
  • Previous recent clerical experience is required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

 

Location: Multi-site, working at both our South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

 

Department: Facilities

 

Hours of Work: Monday through Friday, day shifts. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
