ROLE
As a Maintenance Trade Lead Hand at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) you are a vital member of the team overseeing general maintenance and trade-specific operations within the hospital. In this role you will perform duties such as;
- General Maintenance / Trade Specialty duties
- Assign daily workload to staff based on priority
- Leads scheduled preventative maintenance
- Ensures Plant is maintained to TSSA, ESA, CSA, and all applicable Standards
- Ensure Hospital infrastructures and systems are maintained to ensure Clinical Staff can provide quality care and a positive patient experience
- Work with the various department Managers to co-ordinate renovations
- Recommend continuous improvements or upgrades to the Plant and Facility
REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)

Possess a current Ontario licensed trade certificate
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)
- A solid understanding of the daily operation of the plants at Huntsville, Bracebridge
- Demonstrated understanding of the mechanical (plumbing and HVAC) and electrical systems of the hospital
- Demonstrated understanding of building science and general construction practices
- Demonstrated ability to work with 3rd party vendors, suppliers, and trades
- Comfortable leading a team, including assigning work and follow-up
- Demonstrated decision-making abilities, prioritizing and delegation
- Demonstrated good leadership skills, people skills, and conflict resolution
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Regular and punctual attendance
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE(S) & EDUCATION
- Motor control troubleshooting skills preferred.
- Previous experience in a Team Leader or formal Leadership role
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Department: Maintenance
Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
