We are excited to announce the opening of a brand-new MRI Facility at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital opening in Spring 2025. This state-of-the-art facility will house a Siemens Sola 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner with the latest software platform. ROLE
The incumbent in this position will demonstrate a high level of imaging competence, equipment knowledge, and superior leadership skills through collaboration, inclusion and example. Participation in ongoing education is encouraged. This includes attending meetings, conferences, in-services, and professional development programs. The incumbent will assist with student preceptor responsibilities related to Provincial training programs. The incumbent will demonstrate skills in MR Safety, and participate in all aspects of MRI safety and emergency procedures for MRI environments.
- Provide MRI services in a safe, efficient, and effective manner for the public in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
- Receive and complete requisitions
- Prepare examination trays and patients for specific procedures
- Review patient history, explain procedures, and prepare and position patients for examination
- Work closely with patients before, during, and after the procedure, ensuring they are prepared and comfortable throughout the exam
- Respond to the physical and psychological needs of patients throughout the scanning procedure
- Use monitoring equipment during procedures
- Produce high quality, cross-sectional diagnostic MRI images of patient as ordered by a physician through operation of MRI and computerized imaging equipment
- Work with an interdisciplinary team to prioritize the needs of the patients
- Process and reconstruct images in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
- Enter relevant data into the radiology information system and archive images to PACS
- Maintain MRI equipment
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of a CMRITO approved training program in MRI, including didactic teaching and supervised clinical experience
- Registration with the CMRITO as an MRI Technologist
- Certification with CAMRT (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
- Completion of Intravenous Therapy training course
- Two (2) years recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level
- Experience with Siemens MRI equipment an asset
- Experience with Philips PACS and Cerner an asset
Note: Registry eligible personnel may be offered a position prior to completion of registry examinations but must provide evidence of successful completion by date of hire.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: Multi-Site, working on site at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Applicants must reside within 125km of one of our hospital campuses or be willing to relocate prior to starting. *Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
