ROLE
- Direct and supervise departmental functions, implementing policies to meet corporate and departmental goals
- Coordinate staff efforts and administrative activities for efficient operations while maintaining a safe working environment
- Prepare and monitor departmental budgets, analyze financial indicators, and submit variance reports
- Oversee inventory control and facilitate the evaluation of products and equipment
- Foster a motivating work environment, support staff development, and manage scheduling in compliance with union contracts
- Supervise, interview, and evaluate staff performance while providing coaching and guidance
- Maintain statistical data on departmental efficiency and patient satisfaction, ensuring continuous quality improvement
- Collaborate on accreditation efforts and patient safety initiatives, developing educational tools and training for staff
- Assist in planning patient care program expansions, participate in leadership meetings, and maintain professional development
- Prepare reports for regulatory bodies and perform additional duties as needed
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education in Nursing required
- Minimum of 5 years of current progressive professional experience with a focus in acute care
- Minimum of 3 years of current progressive leadership experience in a unionized
- Current Regulated Health Care Provider in good standing with their governing body
- Recognized credentials in medical/surgical nursing, and complex continuing care nursing an asset

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location: Multi-Site with Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville as the home site, and requirements to work at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge.
