What we are looking for:

We are looking for a registered nurse, who will become an integral member of the interprofessional team responsible for the comprehensive care of ICU/CCU patients. The Critical Care Unit at Oak Valley Health is an exciting area work in, having recently launched the CCRT (Critical Care Response Team). The unit includes acute medical/surgical critical care and stepdown beds. It is open to Critical and accepts life or limb patients. Over the next year the department is expected to grow with the launch of dialysis within the unit. As the unit continues to grow, there are many development opportunities for all team members within the unit. 

As the successful candidate, you will practice in an environment where the emphasis is on professional practice and customer satisfaction. Using your clinical expertise, you will, in collaboration with the interprofessional team, be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive care plan for each of your patients in the delivery of individualized patient/family- centred care.

 

In addition, as part of your professional practice, you will be expected to:

  • Be a member/participant in committees, task forces, unit projects, so that you can actively partake in the development and enhancement of your patient care unit. Such activities might include participation in the ongoing development/revision of patient care unit policies and procedures, development of standards of care, patient teaching programs, chairing team meetings, etc.
  • Be responsible for identifying and pursuing your own educational needs using the resources available to you

 

What you bring to the role:

  • Completion of the Critical Care Certificate program required
  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses
  • Current BCLS and ACLS certifications
  • Recent ICU/CCU nursing experience 
  • RNAO membership is preferred
  • Advanced physical assessment skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to a patient/family centred care environment
  • Demonstrated excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team as well as independently
  • Well developed organization, communication, interpersonal and teaching skills
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development, continuing education and leadership experience
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
  • Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required

 

Work Schedule:

The successful candidate will do a rotation of 12 hour Days and Nights. Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.

 

Compensation:

Band J: $39.10-$56.05
