What we are looking for:

The Clinical Leader is a Health Professional who, in collaboration with the Patient Care Manager, is responsible and accountable for demonstrating competent leadership and patient centered care.  The Clinical Leader is accountable for the day-to-day clinical coordination of nursing and non-nursing activities through facilitation and system coordination activities, reporting to the Patient Care Manager. Your well-developed leadership and critical thinking skills, coupled with an outcomes-focused approach, will enable you to successfully lead and coordinate care within our services. You will be a self-directed health care professional and will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to the delivery of high quality, patient focused interdisciplinary care.

 

What you bring to the role:

  • Registration with the CNO as a Registered Nurse
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent credentials required, or in progress
  • Minimum 5 years practical, related and current perinatal experience with advanced clinical skills
  • Successful completion of the perinatal certification exam through the Canadian Nurses
  • Association (PNC(C)), and demonstrated ongoing maintenance of the certification an asset
  • Completion of all relevant requirements, including certification requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical operations within a community hospital setting including antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum care
  • Knowledge of an interdisciplinary model of care in a community hospital setting 
  • Proven excellent collaborative, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities with talents in complex analysis and critical thinking
  • Excellent human resources, financial, and information management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office and Meditech
  • Demonstrated excellent leadership skills
  • Patient and family focused with strong customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill, organization/prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in stressful, complex environments, manage critical events and exhibit poise, professionalism and strong decision making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and problem solve potential risk issues
  • Demonstrated ability to support process improvement and change initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a resource, role model, mentor and coach to support effective team building and functioning
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and support effective team building with all interprofessional members of the team
  •  Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.)

 

Work Schedule:

The successful candidate will need to be available to work 7.5 hr and 11.25 hr shifts.  Schedule will need to be flexible to meet the needs of the unit and staff - mainly will be weekdays but may need to be in-house evenings, nights or weekends.

Schedules may change based on operational needs. 

 

Compensation:

Salary Band F: $47.25- $58.95per hour.
