Accounting Specialist (Maternity Leave)

Position Type: Temporary (Maternity Leave Coverage) 

Part of the Trotter & Morton Group of Companies, Trotter & Morton Facility Services provides 24/7 preventive and predictive mechanical system maintenance and repair to condominiums, commercial, and institutional buildings.

We are currently looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team!

Roles and Responsibilities

• Take care of the data entry associated with billing, job costing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
• Assist with various timesheet and payroll functions
• Answer customer calls and dispatch technicians
• Communicate with the Manager, Service Technicians and Customers on a daily basis
• Provide support to business systems, accounting, and any other department as needed
• Obtain customer payment information
• File all appropriate paperwork
• Perform other duties as required
  

Required Skills and Abilities 

• Ability to learn new software with proficiency of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel
• Professional, approachable and customer-service oriented
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
• Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Good mathematical and analytical skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Solid understanding of all aspects of A/R processes and practices

Required Education and Experience 

• Accounts payable and receivable data entry experience
• Customer Service experience
• Applying credits and debits experience
• Accounting Degree or Diploma considered an asset
