Trotter & Morton is seeking a Mechanical Project Coordinator for commercial mechanical projects. Our company is backed by extensive project experience and dedicated personnel.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Assist the Project Manager with the following:

 

  • Perform tasks to coordinate the pre-development, pre-construction, construction, and close out phases of a project
  • Ensure all required permits and licenses are obtained and posted
  • Initiate set-up, monitoring, and update of project schedule with project team
  • Ensure all required submittal review, processing and approvals, and submittal logs are set-up and maintained
  • Develop, submit, and obtain approval of billing schedule of values
  • Assist the Project Manager with distributing, compiling, pricing, tracking, follow up and logging of project changes (CCN, CD, EWO etc)
  • Monitor and Maintain all project logs in Procore
  • Ensure all projects are closed out in an organized and timely manner
  • Assist the Project Manager or Senior Management in Conducting post-completion closeout meetings/ lessons learned for assigned projects
  • Build long term relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Attend pre-bid meetings as requested by the PM or Chief Estimator
  • Calculate quantity take-off detailing all the materials and supplies necessary for the contract to achieve specification
  • Liaise with suppliers and collect quotes on materials and equipment
  • Review, prepare, and submit Request for Quotation (RFQ)’s from vendors and subcontractors
  • Review take-offs, checking for mathematical and technical accuracy
  • Track actual costs against the estimate and identify possible improvements to processes
  • Price change orders, for final review by the Project Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager

Required Experience

  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Project, etc.)
  • Strong familiarity with projects within the mechanical scope
  • Completion of an Engineering Degree, CET, Project Management Training, or Trades Experience is preferred
