Part of the Trotter & Morton Group of Companies, Trotter & Morton Facility Services provides 24/7 preventive and predictive mechanical system maintenance and repair to condominiums, commercial, and institutional buildings.

We are currently looking for an Apprentice HVAC Technician to join our team.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide support to our HVAC Technicians who service a wide variety and base of customers
  • Learn and assist with assembly and installation of refrigeration or air conditioning components such as motors, controls, gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators and compressors using hand and power tools
  • Measure and cut piping
  • Learn and assist with installations, troubleshooting and overhauling entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems
  • Accountable for the delivery of high customer service excellence levels.
  • Responsible for sustaining high customer satisfaction levels
  • Follow all company policies and procedures including Trotter & Morton’s Health and Safety program
  • Other duties as required

Required Skills

  • Desire to learn about HVAC repair and maintenance
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and Power tools
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to learn on the job
  • A mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lift in excess of 25 kilograms
  • Ability to stand for long periods, do some moderately heavy lifting and carrying, and work in high, awkward and noisy places
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Capacity to take orders and instructions

Required Experience

  • Completion of 1st year Schooling and hours
  • Valid class 5 license and be able to provide a clean 5 year driving abstract
