About the Role:
As a Payroll Clerk, you’ll support our payroll team with day-to-day tasks to help ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. This is a great opportunity for someone who is just starting out in payroll or accounting, especially if you’re interested in the construction industry or learning how payroll works in a unionized environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Enter and process employee records for new hires, rehires, terminations, and status changes accurately and promptly
- Prepare and process weekly and bi-weekly timecards for hourly and salaried staff
- Assist with preparation and submission of CRA source deductions, ROE’s, RRSP contributions, union remittances, and benefits payment
- Maintain and update payroll files in both electronic and physical formats to ensure compliance and audit readiness
- Verify payroll documentation for completeness and accuracy, including hours worked, vacation, and other leave
- Provide support to employees regarding access to the employee portal, pay statements, and year-end tax documents
- Act as an internal resource who willingly responds to employee and staff inquiries with respect to payroll matters
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure pay and personnel records are accurate and up to date
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures
- Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of employee and company records
- Perform other duties as required
Required Skills and Abilities:

- Strong oral and written communication skills
- High degree of discretion and confidentiality
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Required Experience and Education:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent (GED)
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, or a related field is an asset
